The 199th overall pick in the sixth selection of the 2000 NFL Draft, Brady took the reigns as quarterback in New England from Drew Bledsoe during the 2001 season in which he was the first to win a Super Bowl as a Patriot. Brady went on to win six championships playing with Bill Belichick during his 20-season time in New England.
In March 2020, however Brady signed a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In February the 43-year-old quarterback beat Mahomes (25), and the Chiefs in his seventh Super Bowl title.
Edelman who is 35 years old, a wide receiver, has officially given his cleats following 12 seasons. Edelman's longtime friend Brady praised Edelman in an Instagram post.
"On the biggest stage and in the most important moments, you always came through," Brady wrote. "I witnessed so much of the journey and am extremely pleased with how you went from a 7th round underdog to an older 7th round underdog.
